Took a washer machine drum and welded metal to it for legs. looks pretty good from a couple feet away, but right now its to cold to be a couple feet away. with potato flash on:

I know a guy who has elevated this to an art form. He scours alleyways and yard sales for old washers with metal baskets and makes decorative fire pits using a plasma cutter, among other tools.

Sweet. But I can't keep myself from wondering how well that thing actually will tolerate that amount of heat.

Ours has lasted surprisingly well for around 20 uses. Wish we'd welded legs onto it though, the burnt lawn isn't that nice.

I think it would look really nice if you put a layer of black heat-resistant paint (as one would use on an engine or similar) on it., making the drum match the legs and brackets.

From what I can figure from his other videos, he's got about 2-400 volts going at times.
